An afternoon Course that covers the following areas:

- Law and Offenses against the Person
- What constitutes Restraint – Types
- Typical approaches utilized in Nursing Home Care – Places of bed rails/ waist bands & Rearward Tilt Chairs
- The obligations as set out by HIQA in Standard 21 – what can staff do to meet HIQA 21?
Implications for practice are explored with RN’s and HCA and also the consequences e.g. Challenging Behavior Triggers
Objectives:
- Raising awareness of increased skills practices for staff
- Consequences for restraint approaches for the RN’s and Code of Conduct
- A special price if this course is taken with the morning course on “Falls Prevention”
