In Conjunction with South West Gno Skillnet

Commencing 25th April 2016

On completion of this Programme Learners will be awarded Certificates in the following:

QQI Level 5 Care of the Older Person

QQI Level 5 Care Skills

Manual Handling( Including Patient Handling)

CPR and Defibrilator (Irish Heart Foundation)

Elder Abuse Prevention Training HSE

Infection Control

End of Life Care

Work Placements

St. Lukes Home will provide 8 supervised placements for the module Care Skills and will source 8 other suitable placements in other residential care centres. An interview panel will be created involving HR from St. Lukes Home, South West Gno Skillnet and Northridge House. Before commencement of placement all participants will have successfully completed Manual Handling (inc. Patient Handling), Prevention of Elder Abuse Training, Infection Control and End of Life Care. Students are required to meet the rules and regulations of Northridge House and those Residential Care Centres in which places are undertaken.
