Northridge Education Centre

Northridge Education Centre has been established to enhance the quality, consistency and relevance of education to individuals and institutions committed to the care of the Older Person, both in the public and private sector.

St. Luke’s Home has invested significantly in the training and education of our staff members over the years. This desire has been further advanced with the construction of a state of the art Education Centre on site here at Mahon.

The Education Centre is an embodiment of the St. Luke’s Mission of continuing to provide high quality care to the Older Person in the city and beyond.

The maxim of “Enhancing our Caring by On Going Training” is emblematic of this commitment. Courses are geared towards the needs of those who provide care for the Older Person – be it within a Residential Care Centre, hospital or home setting. Our training is provided by experienced and qualified facilitators.

St Luke's Home Education Centre

Many of the courses offered by the Education Centre are accredited by either FETAC (QQI) or An Bord Altranais.

In addition to providing training to meet the standards expected by HIQA and the other statutory bodies the Education Centre continues to enhance the breath of training it can provide e.g. the provision of Clinical Pastoral Education and other courses in pastoral ministry.

While the Resident remains the central focus of all our endeavours here at St. Luke’s Home, our new Education Centre will allow the Home to provide additional support, insight and training to fellow healthcare providers, students and those in the community who support the Older Person in so many different ways.

The Centre offers a variety of Educational and Meeting settings and is available.

The Centre also can provide on-site training in other Care Homes.
